| What is IFAN? |
The IFAN network will stimulate a real dialogue between the experienced members of IFAN and the new ones who just came back from France in order to join our efforts to enlarge the big community of fans of IFAN sharing a common love and enthusiasm for bilateral cooperation between our two countries.Interaction between the organizers, the moderators and the members will stimulate the network and give the wish for those who still don’t know France or India to join the community. This network has been launched last year in February 2007 by the French Embassy, the launch of its website on the 26 of January 2008, in the framework of the visit of the French President of the French Republic M. Nicolas Sarkozy. On the occasion of the !FAN Foundation congress and the centenary celebrations of the ESSEC, and in view of thee numerous partnerships between institutes such as the ESIGELEC, Ecoles des Mines , N+I University of Paris Dauphine, University Lyon 3 , Sciences-Po and several reputed Indian partners in the perspective of the creation of an Indo French consortium of universities we hope that by such measures the !Fan community will get larger. This network, will allow its members to be informed, to be aware, to be concerned by different announcements about academic, scientific and cultural events and jobs issues for their career .We welcome on this occasion the IFTA (Indo French Technical Association) members who are a remarkable part of this network. It will also be a way to enlarge a friendship which has existed since many years and to reach to know personally its members in order to share our cultural diversity, to strengthen reciprocity between India and France and to welcome more Indian students in France and more French students in India. Who are those !FAN members? They are involved in different fields: Management, Sciences and technology, Design and Architecture, Hospitality, and Political and social sciences and literature, French language, and Fine Arts and Audio Visual. They span various cities and work in diverse organisations such as Renault, Thales etc…Some luminaries include Anjolie Ela Menon, painter , Upamanyu Chatterjee, public servant and writer, Mallika Sarabhaï, dancer and Theatre play actor, Manu Rewal, film maker are part of this prestigious network which is enriched by their talents and we invite you to discover their profile and to chat with them on the web. The blog space will allow you to share your French experience, the classifieds section page will help you to find internships and jobs. It will be in fact also a way to keep in touch with your friends and share a constant exchange of views and talk about your expectations and projects. Having more exchanges, linking between engineers, managers and academic and artists will be our goal. We will invite you to take part to exchange fairs, sciences today conferences, different seminars, and to enjoy the francophone celebration, the “Fête de la musique,” French film festival, gastronomy… With the help of the moderators of each section we will have a “café scientific- economic- or philosophical” regularly. We will invite you to the “year of the photo” with a photo competition after the creative writing competition where you did tell us how your studies in France have been a fundamental experience in your career and personal lives and reward you for your participation. We invite you to meet the !FAN team comprising Archana Chaudhary, Mani Punj and myself, Dominique de Gasquet. If you are in town, please take an appointment to meet us and we invite those who are from different part of India to visit us when they will come to Delhi on different occasions.
